The bristles are stiff enough that my cast iron skillet came out spotless without me having to scrub twice, and the oiled handle hasn't splintered even after a few weeks of damp use. The 4-inch size feels substantial, not flimsy, which is exactly what I wanted for scrubbing tough food residue.
The handle feels great in my hand—solid oiled beech, not slippery even when my hands are wet from scrubbing. Those stiff union fibers really dug into the baked-on gunk on my cast iron skillet without scratching the seasoning.
