These handled a 500-degree cast iron skillet straight off the campfire without a hint of heat coming through the palm. The leather feels substantial and stiff now, but I can tell it’ll mold to my grip after a few more trips.
The leather is already breaking in nicely, so it’s got that stiff-but-softens feel my old cast iron pan has. I used them straight over a campfire to flip a hot skillet, and the grip stayed solid the whole time.
Took these camping and they handled my Dutch oven straight off the coals without a hint of heat coming through the leather. The mitts feel sturdy enough to last as long as my skillet has.
