The leather feels thick enough to trust with my cast iron skillet, though the mitts run a bit stiff until you've worked them in a few times. Still, they've held up well on both stovetop and campfire duty.

They do the job with cast iron, though the leather's a bit stiff at first and takes some breaking in before the fingers bend easily. Fit runs slightly large on my hands, but for grabbing hot skillets off a campfire they're perfectly serviceable.
